Short “How To” video through the eyes of one of our military couples

Some of you have been asking for a short “How To” video for Couple Fire.  Your wish has been granted.  See how it works through the eyes of one of our military couples, Taylor & Travis.

While Travis has been deployed to Afghanistan, the two have been using Couple Fire to feel more connected.  They’ve created three boards together:

  1. A Daily Ramblings Board to post what’s going on in their day to day lives and give them things to talk about.
  2. A Favorite Memories Board so they can remember some of the awesome times they’ve spent together.
  3. A Honeymoon 2 Board since they didn’t really get to go on a honeymoon, they are figuring out where they can go together and using Couple Fire to help them plan.
In a few minutes you’ll see just how easy Couple Fire is to use.  Enjoy 🙂

Wish you could have a private Pinterest board? Now you can

As you plan your wedding, design your baby’s first room, or come up with date ideas for you and your fiancé, do you really want the whole world to be able to see what you post on Pinterest?

Here are some telling comments from a WeddingBee forum:

  • “I wish my facebook friends would stop following me on pinterest… now they all know I have an extreme case of baby fever!  Lol, I’ve been posting so much on my nursery inspiration board I’m just waiting for rumors to start.”  Swanks3tw
  • “I agree!  I don’t want people seeing my wedding inspiration!  I’m holding back all the real photos I have… I wish we could keep people from following us!  TopazWedding
  • “UGH!  I feel your pain!  We are pregnant and I want to pin all sorts of baby stuff but don’t want anyone to get any ideas!  So I have been holding back but it has been killing me!”  PennyLainne

Sounds to me that people need private boards!  That way they won’t have to spill the news too early on Pinterest since on Pinterest everything you do is public to whoever wants to view your boards.

With Couple Fire you can create private boards – in fact your boards are by default set to private.  The content on our community inspiration boards is tailored specifically for couples, and our “Post it” button lets you post absolutely anything* from the internet (including Pinterest) to private Couple Fire boards.  All your personal boards are created just between you and your significant other.  That way he or she is the first and only person to see your ideas and comments are kept between the two of you.

Post It Button – Add content with just one click

Have you ever seen an article, a cool picture or a product on a website that you didn’t want to forget?  But then you lost the link and couldn’t find it again?

Well now you can, AND you can share those images and/or pages with your love on one of your Couple Fire boards.

Couple Fire

I use this for keeping track of things like articles I want to read later or share with my fiancé, for travel ideas and to share products I have my eye on.  It’s a cool way to have a virtual wish list from any store, all in one place.

Private virtual place for couples

Wish you had a private place to post things between you and your special someone?  Is Facebook too public for your lovey dovey posts?

That’s exactly how we felt.  We wanted a place where we could upload beautiful images, notes and articles we’d read.  We wanted this virtual place to be just between us and our other half, so that throughout the day, we could post things when we were thinking about each other, all in one place.

You can do just that with Couple Fire.  Couple Fire has virtual bulletin boards where you can upload just about any type of your own content, or you can get inspired by what other real life couples choose to share from the Inspiration Center.  Get date ideas, conversation starters, and inspiration, all to add spark to your relationship.

Try out  Couple Fire today, you can create a social network for two, in just minutes.

What is Couple Fire? How does it work?

Couple Fire is an interesting combination of a photo sharing site, a social bookmarking site and a social network, that comes together in a virtual bulletin board format.  It is designed to be cultivated over time.

Setting up your boards

When you sign up for a free account, you can create your first collection or ‘Board,’ select a name, description and add your partner to it, allowing him or her to contribute images, links and more.

You can instantly start to add items to your Board from the share box right below your cover image. Like on Facebook, adding a link to the box automatically attaches it to your post. As you add links and updates to the Board, you can also add specific posts to your favorites.

Interacting with your partner

All content in your Boards is viewable by both you and your partner.  Both of you can add content and comments on different posts.  For better or worse, your Boards are only as good as the work you and your partner put into it.

You can also add content from the community board.  If you see a piece of content you like, add it to Faves by selecting the Flame button or add it to one of your Boards by selecting the +.  This way you and your partner can get inspired by other cool ideas.

How you can use Couple Fire

Couple Fire is a social site for sharing your favorite images and links, with the added ability to share status updates for just you and your partner.  Couples always have complete control over what they want to post to their private Boards.

Couples can create Boards dedicated to chronicling personal relationships, memories, travel ideas, dreams and more.  It is a great tool for creating a beautiful visual account of your life, memories, or anything you want it to be.

Press: Couple Fire: A social network for those locked in long-distance relationships

We had a nice write up in Geekwire today, Couple Fire: A social network for those locked in long-distance relationships.  The reporter, John Cook has himself been in a long distance relationship and knows how hard it is to stay connected.

Originally Couple Fire was designed specifically for couples locked in long-distance relationships.  It has morphed into a virtual space for all couples, whether you’re separated by thousands of miles or separated by work, Couple Fire is for you.
